Design Challenge 2019 IMechE

Organised by the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), the Design Challenge 2019 required the teams to design and build pipe climbing device that is pre-programmed to complete a set of given tasks.
The conceived device uses the weight to generate the friction required to attach to the pipe. It utilises an Arduino Uno with ultrasonic sensor to execute the pre-loaded programme. The movement is provided by a geared motor connected to a custom-made wheel, which is the only moving part in the design for simplicity.
